What separates tech house from big-room EDM
Big-room is built on tension and release: long builds, huge drops, a lot of air. Tech house is built on the groove — a bassline that rolls, drums that stay tight, and changes that happen underneath you rather than announcing themselves. It works better over an hour, which is why the mixes lean this way.
