Mashups vs. bootlegs vs. edits
Worth separating, because people use these words interchangeably. A mashup puts one record's vocal over another's instrumental. A bootleg is an unofficial remix, usually unreleased commercially. An edit is a small surgical change — a re-arranged intro, an extended outro — made so a track is easier to mix. There's a bit of all three here.
If you like Big Bootie-style mashup mixes
The long-form mashup mix — dozens of familiar records stacked and cut across an hour — is a format Two Friends made popular with their Big Bootie series. This isn't that series and there's no connection to it; it's just the same appetite. If that's what you're hunting for, the mixes and the remix catalogue below are the closest thing here.
